Our support

Support shaped around the individual

Our approach begins with listening. Together with each resident and the professionals involved in their support, we identify strengths, needs, goals and the practical steps required to move forward.

Practical support, agreed together

Support is tailored to assessed needs. Some residents want help with everyday routines and confidence; others are focused on money, health, learning or preparing for a tenancy of their own.

Nest View Housing is a non-profit organisation, so support is funded and delivered on a not-for-profit basis, with any surplus reinvested into the residents we work with.

Where a person needs specialist help, we signpost to or work alongside external services better placed to provide it. We do not provide medical treatment, therapy or emergency intervention.

Support areas

What support can include

Initial needs assessment

We begin by understanding a person's circumstances, strengths, support needs and any risks, together with the professionals already involved.

Personalised support planning

Each resident has an individual support plan setting out agreed goals, the steps towards them and how progress will be reviewed.

Maintaining accommodation

Practical guidance on occupancy responsibilities, looking after the property, reporting repairs and living well alongside others.

Budgeting and financial confidence

Help to plan spending, prioritise essential costs and build habits that make managing money feel more manageable.

Benefits and appointments

Support to understand entitlements, complete forms, keep track of correspondence and prepare for appointments.

Cooking, cleaning and household routines

Encouragement and hands-on support with meal planning, cooking, laundry, cleaning and everyday routines.

Physical and emotional wellbeing

Practical encouragement to register with and engage in relevant health, wellbeing and specialist services. We do not provide medical treatment or therapy.

Community engagement

Support to find local groups, activities and services, and to build connections that reduce isolation.

Education, training and employment

Help to explore learning, volunteering and work options, prepare applications and build confidence step by step.

Positive relationships

Support to develop respectful relationships with others in the accommodation, with staff and within the wider community.

Risk awareness and personal safety

Conversations about staying safe, recognising risk and knowing where to turn for help, recorded in the support plan.

Preparing for move-on

Planned preparation for the next step, including practical arrangements and coordination with the professionals involved.

Tenancy-readiness skills

Building the understanding and everyday skills needed to hold and sustain a tenancy with greater independence.

Support is tailored to assessed needs and may involve signposting to, or joint working with, specialist external services.
